'Til a tear becomes a rose
was performed by Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan.
I dedicate this page in Memory of Keith!
Lyrics by Bill Rice & Mary Sharon Rice
Keith and I grew up in the same area
and our parents were friends.
I saw his mother a few years back
and she gave my Father one
of her personal autographed pictures
of Keith.
Daddy was so pleased!
My family especially my parents were so saddened upon
hearing the news Keith had died.
My Father was a US Mail carrier and I went with him many times on his route
and recall over the years seeing Keith and His siblings
playing in the yard as we drove by.
I also recall him and his siblings
running to the mailbox as we drove up to see
who could reach daddy's hands first to get the mail.
We were all so proud of him and the fact
a lil OLE country boy could make it big.
He also has a brother Dwight following
in his footsteps in country music.
If you enjoy this do go find his music
and make a purchase.
He is now gone but we can keep his memory and music alive.
Thanks, Lola

In Loving memory of Keith Whitley

We miss your wonderful talent here on earth Keith
You had 33 years here and your stay was so brief!
when you left all I can say is the world was in such grief
it was almost beyond belief.

A star fell to earth for such a brief time
but while you were here how you did shine
and oh my so many stood in long long lines
just because your singing was so so fine
but God knew you only had a limited time
as he looked down as you neared the end of your final line.

The star called Keith never lost any luster
I just know you are sitting on a cloud
hitting every note you must be a cloud buster
I see your star still and oh how it shines
your memory will live on forever in our minds
as the gears of time in our minds rewinds.

This is a sad song but one of my favorite ones
he did and I hope you like it anyway and remember
the good times they out weigh the bad ones usually .
